First Steps

According to the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation and the government order, dozens of enterprises including plants, R&D and production associations, design bureaus and R&D institutes were merged into a single group – “Almaz – Antey” Air Defence Corporation, JSC. Those companies were involved in development and production of short-, medium- and long-range air defence missile systems, main types of radar reconnaissance equipment and automatic control systems. Yu. M. Svirin became the first General Director of the Corporation to be replaced by I. M. Klimov since December, 2022.

Consolidation of the Concern

It included more than 60 enterprises from 18 regions of the country. The Board of Directors of the new integrated structure was headed by Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation V.P. Ivanov.

The concern became the first large holding created within the framework of the Federal Target Program "Reform and Development of the Defense-Industrial Complex" (2002-2006). It was assigned the function of a pioneer in solving the problems of forming share capital and a corporate management system.

The S-400 Triumph air defense missile system has been accepted into service

In 2007, the S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile system was adopted into service.

System integrator

By decree of the President of the Russian Federation in 2008, the Concern was designated the sole supplier (prime contractor) and is the leading system integrator in the sphere of airspace use, including the Unified Air Traffic Management System of the Russian Federation.

North-West Regional Center
In 2013, the North-West Regional Center of JSC Almaz-Antey Air Defense Concern began to be formed on the basis of the Obukhov Plant.

Scientific and educational center
In 2014, the Scientific and Educational Center named after Academician V. P. Efremov was established.

The concern received a new status
On February 5, Russian President V.V. Putin signed a decree renaming the Almaz-Antey Air Defense Concern to the Almaz-Antey Aerospace Defense Concern. The same decree approved an increase in the Concern's authorized capital.

In 2015, the Concern built a new plant – the Kirov Machine-Building Enterprise.

In 2015, the construction of the Nizhny Novgorod Plant of the 70th Anniversary of Victory was completed.

The BUK-M3 SAM system has entered service
In 2016, the first divisions of the BUK-M3 anti-aircraft missile systems entered service with the Russian troops.

A new appointment was made to the Board of Directors.
In November, M.E. Fradkov was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors.
2016
A competence center for the development of X-ray diagnostic equipment has been created
In 2019, with the participation of the Concern, a competence center was created for the development of X-ray diagnostic equipment, which had no analogues in Russia at that time.

In 2019, the Concern began manufacturing equipment for underwater hydrocarbon production.

S-350 Vityaz air defense missile systems entered service
In 2020, the Russian Aerospace Forces began to receive S-350 Vityaz medium-range anti-aircraft missile systems.

Launch of production of the S-500 Prometheus air defense missile system.
In 2021, production of the latest S-500 Prometheus anti-aircraft missile system began.
